Well, we made it. finally. We got to Fairbanks on sunday after driving endlessly for days. We go a little off track on saturday because my Dad took a wrong turn, but other than that we did ok. We saw tons of wild animals: 2 foxes, a big horn sheep, some mountain goats, a caribou, 2 dead mooses...or meese, a bear, and a real live buffalo. all of these were right by the road, with the exception of one of the foxes, which I almost ran over. We are living for now in this little 1 1/2 floor cabin where downstairs is a bedroom/living room/kitchen/dining room and a bathroom. then there is a loft with another bed. the stairs leading to the loft look like they are going to collapse at any moment, so that is exciting and fresh. i got a new backpack which is bright blue..i like it. I went down to campus yesterday, and i now have a schedule! MWF i have Communications 131, Effective Personal Computer Use, and Math 161. T TH i have world history and english 111. should be interesting. I got my books, all 16 of them. When I pile them up, its about 2 feet tall. Who really needs that many books for one semester??? oh well, what am i gonna do? classes start thursday but I don't think i'm as nervous as I should be. Hopefully there is not much to worry about. Today we figured out that my phone actually does work out here, thank goodness, so you can still call me on my same number. OH! i got an address on campus, my very own! it is
